Seminar on STEM Education conducted by Professor Jonathan Osborne, Stanford University

ASHK and the STEM Initiative of Hong Kong jointly organised two seminars on STEM education presented by Professor Jonathan Osborne of Stanford University on 20th and 22nd June 2016.   The seminars were about “New Directions in Teaching Science” and “Assessing Scientific Literacy and Competency: Lessons from PISA and NGSS“.  In the seminar on 20th June 2016, the President of ASHK, Professor Lap-Chee Tsui chaired a forum to discuss STEM education in Hong Kong.  Professor Osborne, Principal Gyver Lau, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Association for Science and Mathematics Education, Dr. Dennis Fung of HKU Faculty of Education, Principal Lee Suet Ying, Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of the Heads of Secondary Schools and Professor Wei-Hsin Liao, Associate Dean, CUHK Faculty of Engineering shared their views with the audience.
