Prof Henry He Yan of the Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences awarded XPLORER PRIZE in the field of Energy and Environmental Protection

 

Prof Henry He Yan, Founding Member of the Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences, was awarded Tencent Foundation’s XPLORER PRIZE in the field of Energy and Environmental Protection in recognition of his outstanding achievement in organic solar cell research.

Prof Yan is Professor of Chemistry and Associate Director of Energy Institute in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.   His research mainly focuses on the design and synthesis of organic/polymer materials for highly efficient, low-cost and environmentally friendly organic solar cells.  

The “XPLORER PRIZE" is a non-governmental and public interest award for young scientists and technicians aged 45 and under who are working full-time in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong or Macao.
